For years, the Anganwadi Center in Bairawadgi, Karnataka operated from a rented building, limiting its ability to fully meet the needs of the community.

Recognizing this challenge, the issue of establishing a permanent building became a key focus during special Gram Sabhas on child rights held over the past three years.

During these discussions, both children and community members voiced their concerns, and formal requests were submitted to the Gram Panchayat and the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO).

Although the building was sanctioned, the lack of allocated land stalled progress. In a remarkable display of community spirit, local leaders stepped forward and generously donated a plot of land for the construction.

Today, the new Anganwadi Center serves as a beacon of progress and hope for the village of Bairawadgi, AWC No. 1, in the Devar Hipparagi block, Vijayapura.
