With this motto in mind, the Ministry of WCD govt of India celebrates the national girl child day on 24th January every year. This day is celebrated with a view to promote awareness about the rights of the girl child to bridge the gender divide and to lay emphasis on the importance of girl’s education, health and nutrition.
India literacy project celebrated the national girl child day by organizing various programs along with its partner NGOs across multiple states. Essay writing, singing, drawing competitions were held along with, sensitizing parents about offering equal opportunity to both sons and daughters.
Career guidance sessions were conducted wherein, girl students were happy to talk about their future aspirations and how they feel empowered to achieve their dreams.
