Every drop in the ocean counts…
Drop by drop, India Literacy Project extends its reach to more schools in partnership with Seshadri Padma Memorial Charitable Trust. A total of 12 government schools in Kumabkonam cluster will get a chance to provide experiential learning experience to its students via Multi-Dimensional Learning Space (MDLS).
As part of this MDLS implementation:
- School teachers will be trained on effective usage of science kits to engage students
- Child-friendly libraries will be set-up and Reading Level Assessments (RLA) are already in progress
- Career guidance program will be implemented along with material and counselling sessions
It was a privilege to have the MDLS inauguration done by Hon’ble K Saravanan, mayor, municipal corporation, Kumbakonam
S. Bala Subramanian, CSR Foundation, City Union Bank, R. Mohan, Former Chairman, City Union Bank, Krishnan and Venksteswaran DGMs from City Union Bank also graced the inauguration.
A. S. Aiyar son of T. S. Ananthanaraya Aiyar the first Indian Headmaster at the St. Joseph High School in Trivandrum was present to support the cause. A library at the govt girls higher secondary school in Papanasam, near Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district was instituted in honor of his father’s 125th birth anniversary.
Inner wheel club of madras central district 323 is also proud to support this cause of education.
Asuri Rangarajan, Country Manager, ILP donated the science kits and provided an overview of the entire MDLS set-up.
