Keeping this in mind, India Literacy Project partners with local government bodies to bring medical camp to Merlapaka village in Andhra Pradesh wherein the doctors held sessions to create awareness about iodine deficiency for the village adults and Anganwadi centers.

The doctors demonstrated a simple test regarding identifying iodized and non-iodized salt and recognizing the symptoms of iodine deficiency so that preventive measures can be initiated.
